Naomie Harris insists Daniel Craig was being "sarcastic" when he said he'd rather "slash his wrists" than play James Bond again.
The 39-year-old actress - who played Miss Moneypenny in 'Skyfall' and is reprising her role in 'Spectre' - has defended her co-star by claiming he didn't expect his comments to be taken so seriously.
Speaking at Sony's Made For Bond event at the Mondrian London hotel, she said: "It's something he was saying sarcastically and now it's all been blown out of proportion.
"He's so dedicated to playing Bond that I'm sure he'll be back."
Naomie also insisted that although Daniel suffered an injury while shooting the film, he continued to give everything he had on set.
She said: "To say that he doesn't want to come back - I just don't believe it for a second.
"It's been blown completely out of proportion. Daniel worked 128 days on this movie and he works incredibly hard.
"He injured himself on the movie and came straight back after the operation and worked despite being in pain. He continued to do his stunts, despite his pain.
"I've seen him work 15-hour days and then come back and train for two hours. He does all of his own stunts unless the insurance won't allow it."
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actress' comments come after 'Grey's Anatomy' star Ellen Pompeo slammed Craig's comments saying, "This dude needs a reality check".
