The boxing legend - who died on Friday (03.06.16) at the age of 74 - was initially brought into hospital for breathing problems but sadly passed away after bidding farewell to his wife and children at his bedside.

During a news conference organised by his family's spokesperson, it was also revealed that Ali's funeral will be held on Friday (10.06.16).

The sportsman - who suffered a long battle with Parkinson's disease - will be remembered at a public service at the KFC Yum! Centre in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday (10.06.16) starting at 2pm.

A family spokesperson has confirmed that the service - which starts at two in the afternoon - will feature eulogies from former president Bill Clinton, Billy Crystal and Bryant Gumbel.

Meanwhile, to remember the late star, fans have been sharing a poignant excerpt from his 2004 memoir 'The Soul of a Butterfly', where he talks about how he'd like to be remembered.

In the passage, he shared: "I would like to be remembered as a man who won the heavyweight title three times, who was humorous and who treated everyone right.

"As a man who never looked down on those who looked up to him, and who helped as many people as he could. As a man who stood up for his beliefs no matter what. As a man who tried to unite all humankind through faith and love.

"And if all that's too much, then I guess I'd settle for being remembered only as a great boxer who became a leader and a champion of his people. And I wouldn't even mind if folks forgot how pretty I was."
