Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom are "united" for the sake of their two-year-old son Flynn.
The couple ended their three-year marriage in October but insist they'll always "love and care" for each other because they share a special bond over their two-year-old son Flynn.
Miranda said: "It's difficult for anyone to go through a separation, whether it's on a public scale or not. It was important for us long-term to preserve our friendship and the dynamic of being loving parents to Flynn so we dealt with everything openly and honestly.
She added: "Flynn is the most important thing in both our lives. And because we share that bond, we both feel it's important to be united."
The 30-year-old model has agreed to stay in New York instead of heading home to her native Australia for the festive season because she doesn't want to drag Flynn away from Orlando while he is working on his Broadway play 'Romeo and Juliet'.
Speaking to Australia's Harper's Bazaar magazine, she explained: "I'm not coming home to Australia for summer because Orlando is working six days a week starring in 'Romeo and Juliet' on Broadway.
"And it's not fair to take Flynn and go without him. We're trying to do our best to support each other."
Meanwhile, Miranda has been romantically linked to her long-time friend, Australian billionaire James Packer, in the last few weeks, while Orlando was spotted getting cosy with Liv Tyler recently.
