Minnie Driver has expressed her love for boyfriend Addison O'Dea
The 54-year-old actress has been dating the filmmaker, 45, since 2018 and she has now opened up about their relationship revealing Addison encompasses all of the qualities she was looking for in a partner - insisting he's full of "respect, kindness and humour".
She told PEOPLE magazine: "I trust him with all of my heart ... Addy doesn't have an ulterior motive.
"What I've realised is love is made up of all these things, but I've never seen them right off the bat in a person: respect, kindness, compassion, friendship, intelligence, humour and enormous security. I saw them very quickly in Addison."
Minnie has previously dated stars including Matt Damon and John Cusack and was engaged to Josh Brolin, but she's never married and she recently revealed she has no plans to walk down the aisle with Addison even though he would be the perfect husband.
She told The Times newspaper: "I’m with someone who doesn’t want to get married but who is the most devoted, loving, extraordinary … Everything I could have wanted in my childhood idea of a husband, he actually is."
Minnie also explained her previously turbulent relationship history stems from the breakdown of her parents' marriage when she was a child.
She added: "If I look at my history, what it did was make me want to be married so much and then choose men who were so not the right men to be married to.
"So I would carry on longing to be married and to have that conservative version [of a relationship], find men who had no interest in that, and then if one did, run a mile."
Last year, Minnie - who has a son Henry from a previous relationship - celebrated her fifth anniversary with Addison by sharing a sweet post on Instagram alongside a picture of the pair on their first formal date on a trip to the Emmy Awards in 2019 and another shot of them enjoying a day out at the beach.
She wrote: "Five years filled with laughter, grief, creativity and becoming our little tribe of 4 (counting Bob [their dog]).
"Here we are on our first formal date, which was a v. glam affair, and you made me laugh so much I split a seam in this beautiful dress. Slide 2 is how we really are: happy, eating, by the sea. Love you."
