Minnie Driver only eats animals she hates.
The British actress plays a hard-core vegan in the new NBC series, 'About a Boy,' based on the book by Nick Hornsby, which also spawned the 2002 film starring Hugh Grant, Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette, but admitted she doesn't have much in common with her character, Fiona.
The 43-year-old star told EOnline.com: "I'm not a vegan. But I went to a farm school. I used to have a pig. So I can't eat pigs. And I like lambs, so I can't eat them. And I used to have to milk cows, so I can't eat cows. But I don't mind if anybody else does. And I hate turkeys, so I eat them."
The brunette beauty, who also has three new movies in the works and is finishing off her latest album, is friends with Hugh but hinted she doesn't think he will be a fan of her new show.
She said: "I know Hugh, actually. I'm sure he'll have something pithy and acerbic to say so I'll wait for that and then post it on Twitter."
Despite having a jam-packed schedule, Minnie, who has a five-year-old son, Henry, would drop everything to make a cameo on 'Downton Abbey.'
She said: "I would do 'Downton Abbey' tomorrow. I'm waiting by the phone. I don't care what I play. I just want to be on the show. I want to be in it. I'm obsessed with it. I don't even mind if they kill me after one episode. I just love that show. It's the greatest soap opera on TV!"
