Miley Cyrus started her Instagram show in order to connect with her fans amid the coronavirus lockdown.
The 27-year-old pop star decided to reach out to her fans during the lockdown through her 'Bright Minded' series, thereby keeping them up to date with her day-to-day life.
Miley shared: "I still wanted to stay connected with my fans – it gave me the structure and the stability we all need. But every day my fans would ask, ‘Where’s the music?’ and I had no excuse – I couldn’t say I was busy with lots going on!"
The lockdown gave Miley the chance to reflect on her life and to write new material based on her recent experiences.
The pop star - who divorced Liam Hemsworth earlier this year - told 'The Graham Norton Show': "It gave me time to write and reflect – normally I write about what is happening, but I started writing about what had happened – it was a very reflective period."
Meanwhile, Miley previously likened her split from Liam to a "death".
The chart-topping singer - who married the movie star in 2018 - admitted she was still coming to terms with her split from Liam even after their divorce was confirmed.
She said: "I had a very public, very big break-up that was over a ten-year span of a relationship.
"It’s like a death when you lose a love that deep. It feels like a death. Honestly, sometimes [death] even feels easier because [with a break-up] the person is still walking on the Earth."
'The Graham Norton Show' airs on BBC One on Friday (09.10.20) at 10.45pm. It's also available on BBC iPlayer.
