The 'Believe' hitmaker blasted the 'Midnight Sky' singer for her provocative performance at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2013.
The 74-year-old music legend criticised the 28-year-old pop star's twerking routine at the awards ceremony, where she danced with Robin Thicke wearing nothing but flesh-toned latex underwear.
Cher later apologised for the insults she threw Miley's way on Twitter and admitted she felt "ashamed" by the remarks, however, Miley has insisted she loves that the 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ star showed she "gives a f***" about her.
Appearing on her 'Night Crawling' duet partner Billy Idol's SiriusXM’s Live Transmission Christmas show this week, the 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker admitted: “The amount of people that have talked s*** about my records or what I’m doing, you know, I had Cher come after me on Twitter, but that’s when I thought I had really made it. I’m like, ‘Oh, Cher gives a f*** about what I’m doing.
“She was mad that I was sticking my tongue out all the time and all that s***. And I’m like, ‘Yo, I p***** Cher off, I really made it."
Cher later admitted she regretted opening her mouth about the 'We Can't Stop' singer and claimed she actually thinks Miley is "brilliant".
In the lengthy rant on her Twitter page, she had posted: "Re: Miley S . . . I Think What I Think, but Having Said That . . . I'm a little ashamed (which is Total b*******, how can u B a LITTLE ASHAMED) that I didn't keep my big Opinionated mouth Shut.
"WTF is MY PROBLEM! I'm 2 Old to fall prey 2 'Tell us, Oh wise 1, What did YOU think of M.S ?'
"What I should have said, 'I didn't like it that much, but she's Pushing The Envelope, being an ARTIST! She's Talented & DIDNT COMMIT A FELONY.
"But somehow my ego had 2 get ITS 2 CENTS IN! MY BIG A** 'BAD', I DIDNT SUPPORT A FELLOW ARTIST.
"TRUTHFULLY SHE WAS F*** BRILLIANT . . . CAUSE . . . WE'RE STILL TALKING ABOUT IT. (sic)"
She added: "Ps this is Not an apology 4 what I Thought, its a Reminder, that if I don't practice my principles, I loose Them. (sic)"
Cher had said of Miley's jaw-dropping performance: "It was so bad. I'm not old-fashioned. She could have come out naked, and if she'd just rocked the house, I would have said, 'You go, girl.' It just wasn't done well.
"She can't dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn't great, one cheek was hanging out. And, chick, don't stick out your tongue if it's coated."
