Miley Cyrus has revealed her father's message of support after her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The 'We Can't Stop' hitmaker has been heavily criticised for her very suggestive routine at the event on Sunday (25.08.13) but she claimed Billy Ray said he would have done the same thing.
She tweeted: " 'Mile, if twerkin woulda been invented.... And I had a foam finger.... I woulda done the same thang you did.' - DAD (sic)"
The star's father joins a raft of celebrities leaping to her defence after she was blasted for the raunchy performance which saw her grinding on Robin Thicke as he sang his single 'Blurred Lines'.
Miley's manager has spoken out in support of her client, claiming the singer's family and friends were delighted with the show.
Larry Rudolph told Us Magazine: "We were all cheering from the side of the stage.
"It could not have gone better. The fans got it. The rest eventually will."
Billy Ray had recently explained Miley was always his "little girl" and his love for her would "never change", even with the controversy surrounding the event.
He previously said: "Of course I'll always be here for Miley. Can't wait see her when she gets home.
"She's still my little girl and I'm still her dad regardless how this circus we call show business plays out. I love her unconditionally and that will never change."
