Michael Douglas is hoping to "resolve" his marriage problems.
The 69-year-old actor and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, 44, took a temporary "break" from their 13-year marriage in August but the 'Behind the Candelabra' star - who has children Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10, with the actress - believes the future is "positive" for the couple.
He said: "I hope to resolve my marriage in a positive fashion."
Michael's eldest son, 34-year-old Cameron - whose mother is the actor's former wife Diandra Lucker - is currently in solitary confinement in jail for drug offenses and the 'Wall Street' star believes he has been given a tougher sentence because of his famous father.
Speaking to America's GQ magazine - who named him Diva of the Year - Michael said: "They gave him an additional four and a half years to his sentence [after he was caught with drugs in prison] and put him in solitary for eleven months, and no family visits for two years.
"[The extra sentence is] the longest by far in the history of the United States penal system. You'd have to ask this judge why. They don't want [judges] to look soft on a white kid whose parents are celebrities."
