Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are "closer than ever".
The 70-year-old actor has revealed the couple's brief separation from May to November 2013 following 13 years of marriage has strengthened their marriage.
He said: "We're closer than ever. I think that when both parties want to work something out, they can. It was mutual love that brought us back to each other - we've been back together for two years and it's all worked out just fine."
The 'Ant-Man' star also said their children Dylan, 14, and Carys, 12, understood what was going on during their time apart but are now thrilled their parents have reconciled.
He explained: "The kids are doing great, too. They had a clear understanding of what was going on - I don't think there were a lot of secrets kept - and they're fine now. To sum up, no news is good news, and that's what we have!"
And now the couple's relationship is going well, they're encouraging their kids to think about the future and believe their son may even follow in their footsteps by becoming an actor.
He told the Daily Mail newspaper: "I tell them they have to think hard about what they're going to do with their life. People are living so much longer now, and my two are going to live to 110 for sure, so the question is - what are they going to do with all the years? They're great kids. Carys is a dancer and a very, very good one, and Dylan is an actor who also plays in a band. I enjoy being with them a lot."
