Melissa Rivers has paid an emotional tribute to her mother, Joan Rivers, on the first anniversary of her death today (04.09.15).
The newly appointed 'Fashion Police' co-host remembered her mother in a post on the late comedienne's Twitter profile, in which she admitted it has been a "difficult" year "of firsts" since the 81-year-old star died due to complications after undergoing routine throat surgery in New York City.
The 47-year-old producer, who has 14-year-old son Cooper with ex-husband John Endicott, wrote: "Today marks one year since my mother passed. This was the year of firsts: first holidays, first birthdays, first everythings without mom, without grandma.
"While it's been difficult. I've been amazed by the outpouring of love and overwhelming kindness we've received from family, friends, and people whose lives were touched by the woman they knew as Joan -- a woman we all miss so very much."
Earlier this week, Melissa revealed that she and Cooper scattered Joan's ashes while on holiday in Wyoming last month.
She said: "Coop and I took our annual family vacation to Wyoming. [The] first without my mom and scattered some of her ashes there so we can still be together every August as a family."
But she insisted they had nothing big planned to mark her anniversary.
She said: "Everyone expects me to have this big grand plan for the 4th and I am just going to be spending it with my son. He is going to go to school, I am going to go to work and come home and light a candle, and have a glass of wine."
