Melissa McCarthy is joining the 'Gilmore Girls' Netflix revival.
The 'Spy' star starred in the original TV series as chef Sookie St James, the best friend of Lorelai Gilmore, and despite previously claiming she had not been asked to return, has confirmed that she will star in the new series.
Speaking on the Ellen DeGeneres show, Melissa said: "It is really exciting. There has been something that I've been asked about so, so many times and it hasn't worked out. They're making four new movies of the 'Gilmore Girls', which is a show that was near and dear to my heart for four years and we could not get those schedules to work.
"There was a whole thing and I was going to be out of the country. And literally about an hour and a half ago we figured out that I am gonna go back and do it! And I am so excited!"
And Melissa revealed she worked with the show's creator managed to work out a way to get her back for filming.
She said: "It's gonna be amazing. Amy Sherman Palladino's gonna squeeze me in to do it and I'm very happy to go back to Star's Hollow. I'm just really excited about that. So, it just happened; I got asked a lot about it. As of not even two hours ago, it's happening."
