Melinda Messenger’s son is “horrified” by her glamour model past.
The 50-year-old star – who has children Morgan, 20, Flynn, 19, and Evie, 17, with ex-husband Wayne Roberts – won’t share “throwback” images on her social media accounts because she doesn’t want to embarrass her kids.
Speaking to Closer magazine, she said: “I definitely put my children’s feelings above my desire for likes and approval on social media, which is one reason I don’t post throwback images from my Page 3 days.
“My son Flynn recently told me he was horrified by it.
“He said he’d found it hard when he was younger when other people said, ‘Your mum’s sexy’ or ‘I’ve seen your mum’s boobs’ or when his friends’ dads said things about his mum.
“I totally got it. He asked why I hadn’t thought about them.
“I told him I was in my 20s and he didn’t exist! He understood.
“Children are different. My eldest son, Morgan, doesn’t have an issue with my former career.
“That said, I always check with my kids before I post anything that might be contentious on social media.”
Melinda insisted she wouldn’t change her past, but she didn’t realise glamour modelling would play such a big part in her life.
She said: “I certainly wouldn’t pursue it now, but I probably wouldn’t go back and change being a glamour model as there’s something to be learned from every experience and that was part of my journey.
“I had a ‘why not?’ attitude back then.
“In my mind it was something I was going to do for a month or so. I didn’t realise it was going to impact my life in such a way, so naivety played a big part."
