Melanie C feels the coronavirus pandemic has created a "big hole" in her life.
The 46-year-old singer - who first found fame as part of the Spice Girls - wonders how the pandemic is changing the course of history for artists all around the world.
She told the 'Culture Interrupted' documentary: "To have a period of life where you can't go, you can't enjoy music, you can't share that experience not only as an artist, with your fans, but as a music fan with the artists that you love.
"I think it makes me feel like there is this big gap, this big hole that is being created in my lifetime.
"What if [the pandemic] happened in the '90s ... I don't know what would have happened to the Spice Girls. Would we still have had the same journey? Would pop culture still have the same history?"
Melanie previously admitted to missing the interaction with her fans amid the pandemic.
The pop star revealed she was struggling to come to terms with performing without a crowd.
She said: "I've found it very challenging like everybody. I am missing people, being in a venue, being able to have that energy exchange when you perform."
However, when the lockdown restrictions were eased earlier this year, she took the opportunity to meet up with the rest of the Spice Girls.
Speaking in October, Melanie - who topped the charts alongside Mel B, Emma Bunton, Geri Horner and Victoria Beckham in the 90s - said: "We did all meet up a few months ago. We popped over to Geri's and had a socially distanced walk in the woods and it was lovely.
"We wanted to get together just to reconnect, check in with each other."
