Megan Fox warns young actresses to have a thick skin or the movie industry will "tear you to pieces".
The 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' star learned very quickly just how judgmental people are in Hollywood, but feels she has always been a strong enough person to deal with it.
She told the New York Daily News newspaper: "If you have an insecurity issue or if you seek validation through the opinions of others, this industry is not for you. It will tear you to pieces, and you will not survive.
"I think [fearlessness] is something you're born with. Maybe not in all cases, but a lot of famous people that have made it have to be [strong]."
However, one thing Megan shies away from are the pressures of social media.
She added: "I've never been somebody who gets on the Internet and reads about myself. It's so damaging to the psyche and to your emotional well-being. I was never that aware of the Hollywood hierarchy.
"I mean, Twitter, there's pressure to post an update several times a day - I'm much more private than that. I was on Twitter for five days, and I posted on my Facebook, and I was overwhelmed by it."
The 28-year-old actress says she now only takes "one or two projects a year" so she can concentrate on being a mother to Noah, who will be two next month, and Bodhi, five months, as well as stepmom to husband Brian Austin Green's 12-year-old son Kassius, from a previous relationship.
