Matt Cardle has come out in support of Ed Sheeran over his $20 million lawsuit.

The 33-year-old singer's song 'Amazing' is at the centre of the suit, with Ed accused of ripping it off by songwriters Martin Harrington and Thomas Leonard, and although Matt is not directly involved with the controversy, he has tweeted his support for the chart-topping Brit.
The former winner of the British 'X Factor' said: "Please read news articles closely. This is not my lawsuit. I think Ed Sheeran is a genius and 100 percent deserves all his success."
Plaintiffs allege that the choruses to 'Amazing' and Ed's hit single 'Photograph' share "39 identical notes".
They add: "The similarities go beyond substantial, which is itself sufficient to establish copyright infringement and are in fact striking."
The acclaimed songwriters, who have also written songs for the likes of Kylie Minogue and Emma Bunton, are seeking statutory damages and either a running royalty or injunction as a result of their lawsuit.
Richard Busch, the attorney who won the copyright infringement case against Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams on behalf of Marvin Gaye's family for their song 'Blurred Lines', is representing the duo in the high-profile case.
In that particular instance, the singers were ordered to pay £5.3 million for copying Gaye's 1977 song 'Got To Give It Up'.
Meanwhile, Ed is yet to make any public comment about the lawsuit.
Although Matt sang 'Amazing', he is not involved in the case.
