Martin Scorsese has become a big fan of One Direction after receiving one of their albums as a gift.
The Oscar-winning director is reportedly hooked on the pop tunes of the British boy band - comprised of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles - and became a lover of their songs after his daughter Francesca gave him one of their albums as a gift.
A source told the Confidenti@l column of the New York Daily News newspaper: "Martin is very passionate and enthused about the music of One Direction."
It's unknown whether the record was the band's latest album 'Midnight Memories', which debuted at number one both in the UK and the US.
Scorcese, 71, has worked with music artists whom he is a fan of in the past.
He directed the video for Michael Jackson's 'Bad' in 1987 - the only music promo he has made to date.
The 18-minute video was written by novelist and screenwriter Richard Price, was influenced by 'West Side Story' and starred a young Wesley Snipes opposite the late King of Pop. It is still regarded as one of Michael's most iconic music videos.
Scorcese also directed the 2008 Rolling Stones concert film 'Shine a Light', which featured the rock band's concerts at the Beacon Theater in New York City on October 29 and November 1, 2006.
