Margot Robbie will host the first episode of the new series of 'Saturday Night Live'.
The 26-year-old actress will make her hosting debut as the first celebrity guest-host on the 42nd series of the show which airs on October 1.
Joining her will be singer/songwriter The Weeknd who is performing.
Margot's involvement was announced on the official SNL Twitter page with a picture of a notice board with three notes stuck to it uploaded to the social media site. The first note read "Oct 1", the second "Margot Robbie" and the third "The Weeknd".
The tweet itself simply read: "SNL is back next weeknd! (sic)"
American comedy sketch show 'Saturday Night Live' has launched the careers of comedic heavy hitters such as Bill Murray, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Eddie Murphy. Each show also features two musical performances.
Earlier this month, it was reported that three new cast members, Mikey Day, Alex Moffat and Melissa Villasenor, had joined the cast of the programme for its 42nd series. They will replace the roles of Jon Rudnitsky, Jay Pharaoh and Taran Killam who all departed the show in August this year.
The musical appearance from The Weeknd - real name Abel Tesfaye - comes after he recently shared brand new track 'Starboy' from his upcoming album of the same name. Whilst the star hasn't confirmed which songs he will be performing, reports suggest the show will mark the live debut of his new track.
The series premiere marks the first time the 'Suicide Squad' actress has appeared on the show.
Meanwhile, The Weeknd has performed a number of times, including with Nicki Minaj last October, and Future in March.
'Saturday Night Live' will air on October 1 at 11:35 pm on NBC.
