Mandy Moore thinks her marriage to Ryan Adams was a "very unhealthy situation".
The 34-year-old singer and Ryan, 43, ended their seven-year marriage in 2016, but Mandy has insisted she doesn't blame herself for the collapse of their relationship.
She explained: "I don't feel guilty for it. I don't fault myself for it.
"When people said, 'I'm sorry,' I was like, 'No. Sorry would have been had I stayed in a very unhealthy situation.' I didn't. I found my way out. And when I did, things opened back up again."
Of her decision to tie the knot in the first instance, she confessed it was"not the smartest" move.
She added: "I didn't choose the right person."
But Mandy is now in a relationship with musician Taylor Goldsmith, whom she met via Instagram shortly after her split from Ryan.
The duo are currently engaged and the singer is already looking forward to their future together, convinced she's found her perfect partner.
Mandy told Glamour magazine: "I was still dealing with the trauma of my divorce when we started dating.
"Taylor was steadfast in his support - that was a huge sign for me."
The couple are keen to adopt and Mandy is convinced Taylor will be a brilliant dad.
She said: "He makes me melt. I can imagine no better partner.
"He's going to be the most tremendous father ... Maybe it's true [about the biological clock], but f**k that narrative."
Despite her previous heartbreak, Mandy feels it's all been worthwhile as it's ultimately led her to find Taylor.
She explained: "I view the past as a stepping-stone to get me where I am today. I would gladly weather all of that a million times over if it brought me to Taylor again."
