Mandy Moore feels “prepared” for motherhood, after playing a mother of three on ‘This Is Us’ for five years.
The 36-year-old actress is currently expecting her first child with her husband Taylor Goldsmith, and whilst she doesn’t have any real life experience with motherhood yet, she does know what it’s like to play one on TV, thanks to her role as Rebecca Pearson in the NBC drama.
She said: "Playing a matriarch of a family for the last five years and getting to see children at various different chapters and stages, I feel like I'm as pseudo-prepared as I can be. I’ve had babies and toddlers and adult children [on the show], so I've gotten a pretty good taste and lay of the land.”
And whilst many expectant mothers hate nothing more than getting unsolicited advice from other mothers, Mandy “will welcome any” comments.
She added: "I'm all for it! I will welcome anything because I know nothing. I'm like a sponge - I wanna soak it all up.”
Mandy also says it’s “hard to imagine" what life will be like once she and Taylor welcome their child - who will be a baby boy - but admits the couple are definitely excited to start their next chapter as a family.
She explained on the 'Today' show: "My husband is a musician, so the idea of being able to have music be this through line in [the baby's] life is really exciting. To be able to bring him on the road with us is an exciting prospect. And holidays - we're at the beginning of the best season of the year, and I think about traditions and the way we're gonna be a family together. It's so exciting.”
Meanwhile, Mandy and Taylor - who tied the knot in November 2018 - revealed their exciting baby news on Instagram in September.
Many wrote in her caption at the time: "Baby Boy Goldsmith coming early 2021 (sic)”
