The 59-year-old singer and her youngest children David, 12, Mercy, 11, and five-year-old twins Esther and Stella had been living in a luxury hotel in Lisbon after relocating to Europe to support David's burgeoning soccer career, but they have now found a more permanent base in the form of a lavish abode.

The building had been used as a boutique hotel with 12 rooms and suites, and though staff haven't confirmed whether the 'Music' hitmaker - whose 21-year-old daughter Lourdes lives in New York City while son Rocco, 17, is based in London with his father Guy Ritchie and stepmother Jacqui Ainsley - has made it her residence, they did admit it is "impossible" to book any of the rooms at the moment.

It is believed Madonna is renting the property for a year, and will have the option to buy when the 12 month period is up if she and her family have settled there.

Before Madonna and her brood moved in, work was taking place at the property - which boasts a heated swimming pool shaded by palm trees - in preparation for their arrival.

Portuguese magazine Flash reported the 'Like a Virgin' singer ordered in seven roasted chickens, as well as rice and potatoes, for herself, the children and staff working at her new home on Monday (08.01.18).

The 'Beautiful Stranger' singer previously described her move to Portugal as an "experiment" after deciding to relocate when David was offered a place with Benfica FC's youth academy.

She said: "It's an experiment. I wanted to just go and experience another culture, music and art scene, and this one is phenomenal."

The 'Vogue' hitmaker also revealed her youngest children are starting to learn about her worldwide fame now that they go to school in Lisbon, as people are "always" asking if their mother is Madonna.

She added: "They go to school in Lisbon right now, and they're wondering why everyone's always coming up to them and saying, 'Is your mother, Madonna?' Like, why do they want to know who you are?

"I mean, a lot of my kids have grown up seeing me in concert, but there are certain songs, like, the twins don't know anything. They heard 'Holiday' for the first time a month ago, so that was a fun moment for them."
