The 27-year-old singer, who is the frontman of his band Lukas Graham, will step away from his globe-trotting career temporarily in September as his girlfriend Marie-Louise Schwartz Petersen is set to give birth to their first child.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: "In September a little gold nugget will be welcomed into the world. I should be out there doing shows and promoting the album but this [seeing my child being born] is so much more important."

However, the '7 Years' hitmaker could still miss the birth of his little one if the baby decides to make an early appearance as he and his band - comprised also of Mark Falgren, Magnus Larsson and Kasper Daugaard - are set to be touring Australia throughout the month of August.

The 'Mama Said' singers - who originate from Denmark - will kick off their first gig Down Under in Melbourne on August 13 before heading to Sydney for one show on August 16.

Meanwhile, it seems Lukas has been waiting a while to start his own little family as he addresses becoming a father in his hit song '7 Years', in which he sings, "Soon we'll be 30 years old/ I'm still learning about my life/ My woman brought children for me/ So I can sing them all my songs/ And I can tell them all my stories."

However, he recently admitted he doesn't pen his autobiographical tracks, he just begins to sing to a tune.

He said recently: "I'm not the typical songwriter, in the sense that I sit down and figure out what do I want to write a song about. I heard the piano, and I just started singing, "Once I was 7 years old."
