The One Direction singer welcomed his first child Freddie Reign with former fling Briana Jungwirth in January and Louis, 24, hopes the tot will share his own passions when he gets older.

Louis, who was signed in 2013 to play for his hometown team Doncaster Rovers on a non-contract basis, told the Daily Mirror: "If he wants to, of course. I could coach him!

"He can do whatever he wants to do. He can try sport and if that doesn't work, do music!"

Louis is currently preparing to go head-to-head with his 1D bandmate Niall Horan, 22, at the Unicef Soccer Aid 2016 match on Sunday (05.06.16) but admitted he is missing LA-based Freddie while he is in the UK for training and the big game.

He tweeted: "Missing my gorgeous little lad!" and added a baby emoji.

Meanwhile, Louis admitted he is desperate to beat Niall after the Irish singer/songwriter teamed up with Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri to be his assistant manager for the Rest of the World team against Louis, who will be playing for the England side.

He explained: "I'd like to lie and say it's not that important for me to beat Niall but it is actually very, very important I beat him.

"We have got a bit of rivalry going on. But it makes it fun. He has got a bit of a knee twinge so he'll be walking off injured. Don't tell the insurers!

"I think the match might be a bit aggressive. I'm going to play a little bit aggressive and just hope for the best. If I walk out with an average game I've done well."

However, he admitted that his training has not been going well.

He said: "I haven't trained in about 12 months, so it's been hard for me.

"I knew coming into this I haven't exercised enough and I have a poor diet, so it's a losing battle before I start and I just have to try my best.

"I should have done some training but I haven't. I eat Domino's and fast food in general. Domino's and a beer."
