Lorde has revealed that she likes going through rubbish bins in her spare time.
The singer says that she likes have a good root around in the rubbish bins of other people and reveals that she has uncovered some ‘amazing furniture and clothes in the process.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Lorde said: "I'm boring because my favourite thing to do is trawl the inorganics. It stays on the street for a few days and then it's collected and put into a landfill somewhere.
"But people drive around and go through other people's household rubbish."
"And honestly, I've gotten amazing furniture, shoes, hats, jackets. I did this three weeks ago! Recognised every single time ... so embarrassing."
The brunette singer - real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor - explained her desire to stay off the red carpet was to keep herself "stress-free".
She shared: "I thought, 'I don't have to do this if I don't want to.' And it's been so amazing and so stress-free not doing it."
2013 was the year that Lorde really burst onto the scene, but 2014 has been another great twelve months for the singer/songwriter as she hit the road at a series of different festivals and in the U.S to promote The Love Club EP and Pure Heroine.
Lorde has revealed that she has started work on material for her second studio album, and has hinted that it would be completely different to the first. However, she did release the single Yellow Flicker Beat, which was the first single off the soundtrack album to The Hunger Games: Mocking jay - Part 1.
