Liv Tyler and David Gardner are "doing everything [they] can to be together."
The 'Leftovers' actress, who has seven-month-old son Sailor with the British sports agent, says they spend a lot of time flying "back and forth" between London and New York City in order to make their relationship work, but hope to eventually live in the same place.
The 38-year-old actress said: "We're doing everything we can to be together, but right now because of work we're going back and forth."
While the couple, who met through mutual friend Kate Moss last year and sparked engagement rumours in February, have never confirmed whether they're married, the brunette beauty refers to David as her husband, and admits she learned a lot about marriage from her ex-husband, Roysten Langdon, with whom she has 10-year-old son Milo.
She told the October issue of More magazine: "I had this philosophy that you should only get married once. But then, of course, that changes. I definitely believe we have lessons we learn through our relationships. You're meant to work through and mirror each other. It's the thing in someone that drives you the most crazy that is maybe a part of yourself."
Meanwhile, Liv credits her children for teaching her about her own strength.
She explained: "My favourite thing about being a parent is that I learn so much from the push-and-pull dynamic of mother and child. Having children, I learned about my own strength.
"I feel like I'm conducting a giant orchestra, because there's so many moving parts."
