Lisa Kudrow nearly cried during her performance with Lady Gaga on TV special 'Friends: The Reunion'.
The 57-year-old was joined by Gaga during the reunion and as well as performing the song 'Smelly Cat' with the pop megastar, the 'Edge of Glory' hitmaker also took a moment to thank Lisa for her portrayal of Phoebe Buffay as the quirky character was an inspiration to misfits like herself when the show aired from 1994 to 2004.
Gag told Lisa: "Thank you so much for being the person for all of us on 'Friends' that was the - I don't know if this is the right way to say it - but the different one, or the one that was really herself."
'The Comeback' star confessed that the moment “really almost made me cry” as Gaga's music had been such a huge inspiration to Lisa's son Julian - her child with husband Michael Stern.
Speaking on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show'. Lisa said: “Coming from her - because my son was in grade school, all the kids were listening to Lady Gaga, and her whole message was, ‘Everyone be yourself and just be you.' That was amazing.”
Meanwhile, 'Friends' director Ben Winston recently claimed Gaga, 35, has a "synergy" with Lisa.
Speaking about their performance, he said: "I told Lisa that I wanted a music performance and didn’t want it to be the theme song. I asked if she’d consider singing 'Smelly Cat' and she thought it would be fun but said she never really played guitar. We gave her a guitar to practice that morning. I gave her a list of three or four names of people I thought would be really great to duet with, but Gaga was, without question, my number one. And she loved the idea of Gaga. Because Gaga - and I don’t think she’d mind me saying - has some Phoebe spirit in her. There is synergy between Lisa Kudrow and Lady Gaga in some way. Gaga said yes in a heartbeat. She was like, 'I would love to perform in Central Perk with Lisa Kudrow.'"
