Lindsay Lohan wants to work on her relationship with her father.

While the 27-year-old actress and her dad, Michael, have had a turbulent relationship, Lindsay hopes the pair will become closer as she tries to get her life back on track after leaving rehab.

While Lindsay recently put together a list of "toxic" people she wants to cut out of her life, Michael is not on it.

According to TMZ: "Lindsay actually wants to keep Michael around because she believes - despite his glaring flaws - that he's actually a positive influence on her ... and family is really important."

Michael posted a link to TMZ's article on Twitter, with the words "TO ALL THE HATERS (sic)."

Meanwhile, Lindsay has been advised by doctors at Cliffside treatment facility in Malibu, California, to have three 50-minute sessions a week with a psychiatrist for the next 16 months to avoid a serious relapse into alcohol and drug abuse.

The 'Mean Girls' star left rehab this week following a 90-day court-ordered stint, and medical staff are worried her resolutions won't hold in the outside world.

In a letter to the judge, Cliffside explained that while Lindsay has "successfully completed her court-ordered course of treatment", they believe therapy is "critical" to her recovery.

According to People.com, it reads: "Our entire clinical team is in unanimous agreement that if these sessions are not required by the court and attendance verified once a month to ensure accountability, it is a set up for almost certain failure."

Richard Taite, Cliffside Malibu's founder and CEO, added that the therapy "should be done face to face while she is in town, and via Skype or phone session if she is out of town."
