Lindsay Lohan has paid tribute to the late Natasha Richardson on what would have been her 58th birthday.
The 34-year-old actress took to Instagram on Tuesday (11.05.21) to remember the "angel", who passed away in 2009 after suffering a brain hemorrhage following a skiing accident, by sharing a still from their 1998 movie 'The Parent Trap'.
In the photo, Lindsay - who played twins Annie and Hallie in the film - wore a blue coat and looked up at her on-screen mother, who was wearing a beige dress and cream coat.
She captioned the image: "Happy Birthday Angel [prayer emoji] #natasharichardson [blue heart emoji] (sic)"
Last July, the cast of the 'Parent Trap', including Lindsay, Dennis Quaid, Elaine Hendrix and Simon Kunz, along with director Nancy Meyers and writer Charles Shyer, enjoyed a virtual reunion to raise money for World Central Kitchen.
And during the meeting, the stars paid tribute to their beloved co-star, with Lindsay remembering how "maternal" she had been towards her.
She said: "Natasha had such an elegance and grace and she was so maternal to me."
Dennis, who played Natasha's on-screen former partner, said: "[She was] just somebody so giving and so glad to be there and transmitted that joy. It made everything that much better."
Elaine recalled Natasha's love for her husband, Liam Neeson, and their sons Micheál, 25, and 24-year-old Daniel.
She said: "She would come into the hair and make-up trailer and she would literally swoon over talking about Liam and her kids. She would call him 'My Liam.'
"And she really seemed to have it all, which to me made what happened even more heartbreaking."
Meanwhile, Micheál recently expressed his sadness that he's unable to enjoy "adult conversations" with Natasha.
He said: "She was a terrific, terrific mother. What I wish is I could have just these adult conversations with her, these random questions about the industry or music. I was a mama’s boy growing up and she was really my best friend. I mean we were all a close family, but Danny [his younger brother] was my dad’s boy and I was my mom’s boy, for sure."
