Lily Allen at Red Bull Revolutions in Sound event

Lily Allen found it really tough to make her third album when she was pregnant because all she could concentrate on was her kids.

The 28-year-old singer - who has two children, 23-month-old Ethel and 10-month-old Marnie with husband Sam Cooper - has returned to the music scene after a four-year break, but insists it was "much harder" to make her as-yet untitled third studio album because she couldn't concentrate on anything other than her kids.

Speaking at the Red Bull Revolutions in Sound event last night (14.11.13) at the EDF Energy London Eye - where she performed her new single 'Hard Out Here' live for the first time - she said: "At first it was really, really difficult because I was pregnant when I was making it [her new album], with my second baby.

"For a long time I found it really difficult and it wasn't until I stopped breastfeeding that I started to connect with myself again, so it was hard, much harder than it has been in the past."

'The Fear' hitmaker has come under fire for the controversial video to her comeback track 'Hard Out Here', in which she mocks distasteful music and also appears to poke fun at singer Miley Cyrus as she attempts to twerk, but the brunette beauty insists she never intended to mock the former Disney star.

She said: "My video has absolutely nothing to do with Miley Cyrus, it wasn't a direct response to anything that she's done ... Robin Thicke however, it was."

Lily wowed viewers and fans when she performed 'Hard Out Here' in a pod on the EDF Energy London Eye at Red Bull Revolutions in Sound, a celebration of UK club culture with 30 of the most legendary club nights in 30 capsules, last night. Her performance was also streamed live on revolutionsinsound.com
