Lily Allen has quit Twitter.
The 31-year-old singer has revealed she has decided to take a break from the social media platform following reports she collapsed after a drinking binge at Notting Hill Carnival over the weekend.
Responding to reports about her behaviour at Notting Hill, Lily said earlier this week: "Truth is I'm just a lightweight, I had 2 cans of strongbow on an empty stomach. I'm here now and I'm absolutely fine. (sic)"
The mother-of-two has also faced claims that her career and personal life are in tatters.
However, she told her Twitter followers: "I have been busy recording my fourth solo album and it's very close to being finished.
"I have postponed its delivery because I want to be on hand to settle my daughter (Ethel) into big school this Sept."
Lily then confirmed she intends to take a break from Twitter and said she hopes that her new music will soon "do the talking" for her.
She explained: "Anyway, I think I'll steer clear of the internets for a bit.
"This s**t just makes me more determined TBH (to be honest). My music will do the talking soon... Until then tweeps, I'm off grid. Love you all for having my back though, thank you. (sic)"
Lily's message comes a week after she took to Twitter to reassure fans she was okay after returning from a holiday in Italy, which had been hit by a huge earthquake.
She said at the time: "Thank you everyone for all your concerned tweets. I had to leave my family holiday in Umbria early to come home for a funeral. Such sad scenes, but feeling blessed that my lot are all OK."
