Lily Allen always wanted to be famous.
The 29-year-old singer - whose parents are actor Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen - admits she dreamt of becoming a celebrity when she was younger because she wanted people to give her "special treatment".
Speaking in an interview with the Telegraph magazine, she said: [I always wanted to sing but more than that] I think I wanted to be famous. [I'd see] how people treated famous people better than they treated not-famous people. [I wanted to] feel special."
The brunette beauty - who has children Ethel, two, and Marnie, 15 months, with husband Sam Cooper - believes her determination to become famous was spurred on by her mum's glamorous lifestyle.
She explained: "Mum would get dressed up and go to the BAFTAs or a film premiere, and I felt like I wanted to make that a reality; that I was part of that world and had a right to be there, rather than feeling like we were acting at it."
However, Lily recently admitted that she didn't want her children to follow in her footsteps and become famous.
She said previously: "If you come from a dysfunctional family like I came from, it's pretty straightforward, that kind of dreaming ... My parents weren't around much when I was a kid, so that's what you want for your kids, not to have that environment."
