There were some standout moments at this year's Oscars ceremony, but one of the most shocking - at least for those waking up with breakfast show Good Morning Britain across the UK - came when Liam Payne was asked about his thoughts on Will Smith slapping Chris Rock live and on stage, in front of the world.
Whilst we were all perched to hear what the former One Direction member had to say, it wasn't his comments that took us by surprise, but the accent that the 28-year-old seems to have adopted in the years since he shot into the spotlight.
You can see the chat with Payne below:
Having been born in Wolverhampton, Payne has lived in a flurry of different places ever since One Direction saw huge success, following their time on The X Factor which shot them into the world of celebrity.
Still, it is strange to now hear that his voice appears to be built from a myriad of different regions, including the Welsh Highlands and the Irish capital, Dublin.
Those who have seen the interview flocked to Twitter to share their reactions - some of them are too rude to post up here - but we've gone through and picked out some of our favourites!
Recent years have seen a flurry of different interviews undertaken with Payne. In each and every single one of them, he has spoken in his usual voice, so exactly what was going on here is anybody's guess...
