Liam Neeson has revealed he still feels as though he's 40 years old, despite being halfway through his 60s.

The 'Taken' actor celebrated his 65th birthday back in June, but has admitted he feels great for his age, and thinks he's "very lucky and very blessed" to still feel a whopping 15 years younger than he actually is.

He said: "I've gotta stop saying to myself, 'I'm 65'. I've got to do that. It's an Irish thing. Sort of seeing the glass half empty instead of half full. But inside I feel 40. But I sometimes think, 'Who are you fooling? Who are you kidding?' I've got to stop that. Life's good! I'm very lucky and very blessed."

It comes after Liam previously hit headlines after he seemingly claimed he would no longer be starring in action movies because of his age.

However, 'The Commuter' star now admits his comments were taken out of context and he meant them as a joke, as he still feels fighting fit.

He added to People magazine: "You go into a room full of journalists and they say, 'When's your next action movie?' And I flippantly said, 'Come on guys, I'm 65 give me a break.' Of course that's the headline they run with. It was meant as a joke.

"[I love action movies] as long as they're rooted in a believability and it's not a character who's jumping from 30 stories and landing safely. All that stuff I'm not interested in. As much as I adore Jackie Chan, I'm not that type of action actor."

Liam was speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival in September when he told audiences he wouldn't be taking part in action movies in the future.

He said at the time: "The thrillers, that was all a pure accident. They're still throwing serious money at me to do that stuff. I'm like, 'Guy's I'm sixty-f***ing-five.' Audiences are eventually going to go, 'Come on.'"
