Leighton Meester loves to "mix business with pleasure".

The 28 year old actress stars with husband Adam Brody in new movie 'Life Partners' and she admitted it was fun to work so closely with the actor.

Speaking on 'The View', she said: "I always want to work with people that I like and love and people that I'm friends with. It's nice to mix business with pleasure."

The 'Gossip Girl' star is appearing in 'Of Mice and Men' on New York's Broadway with James Franco and Chris O'Dowd and her husband has already proved a hit with her co-stars.

James said: "He's the sweetest guy. He's the best guy."

Meanwhile, 'Bridesmaids' star Chris joked Leighton enjoyed making 'Life Partners' so much, she'll be scouring all her future projects for another husband.

He quipped: "You're going to marry a different guy from every job from now on!"

Leighton recently insisted she didn't mind seeing Adam kiss his friend Gillian Jacobs in 'Life Partners'.

She said of their kissing scene: "I think, if anything, I think that they pulled it off really well. I think it's good to have that kind of history, and if that makes it awkward, it works because it's kind of awkward kissing people for the first time. But I think that it didn't look awkward, so I don't know. They look in love."
