Leah Remini was asked by the Church of Scientology to invite Jennifer Lopez to Tom Cruise's wedding.
The 'King of Queens' star claims the Church - which she has now defected from - requested the 'On The Floor' hitmaker and her then-husband Marc Anthony to attend "the wedding of the century".
She said: "The Church was really the one who invited them. On Tom's behalf.
"They were trying to extract me. I can only assume because they wanted to make Jennifer a Scientologist. Maybe I was barring that road for them."
The 45-year-old actress also claims criticising the 'Mission Impossible' star is like slamming the entire religion.
Speaking on ABC's 20/20, she added: "Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself.
"You are a person who is anti the aims and goals of Scientology, you are evil."
Meanwhile, Leah previously blasted Scientology for making children's egos "extremely inflated".
The mother-of-one shared: "Your ego becomes extremely inflated. Because Scientologists view children as spiritual beings, you're not treated as a kid."
Of defecting, she added: "The decision to leave is you are giving up everything you have ever known and everything you have worked for your whole life."
