Lea Michele is 'doing much better' saying her family have helped give her the strength to move on following her boyfriend Cory's Monteith's death in July.
The 'Glee' star was left devastated when her co-star and boyfriend of more than one year was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver, Canada, in July from an overdose, but is finding comfort in those closest to her.
She told People.com at the L'Oreal Women of Worth event in New York City on Tuesday night (03.12.13): "My family has experienced a lot of loss in their life and they've been so wonderful in being there for me and giving me the strength I need."
The 27-year-old star is preparing to release her debut single 'Cannonball' next Tuesday (10.12.13), which she recorded in August after Cory's death, and said it is "more than just a song to me. It completely helped to lift me up at a time where I needed it."
Lea is "doing much better" and being in the recording studio has helped her grieve.
She said: "Music can really help you in times of need, and that's what this song did for me and I hope that's what it does for others as well.
"I brought my dad to the studio and he cried the entire time. But for me it's been very empowering. I've used this song as a rock."
