The 35-year-old basketball player is being treated for a lung infection at a medical facility in Los Angeles, California, after he was found unconscious at a brothel in Las Vegas last week following a four-day drugs and alcohol binge.
Despite the life-threatening infection, which develops after food, liquid, or vomit has been inhaled, the sportsman is said to be making a good recovery and is able to speak in full sentences and swallow his food without assistance now.
However, Lamar's estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, who has been by his side since he was admitted to hospital last week, is finding the experience emotionally draining.
A source told E! News: "You can tell it's taking a toll on Khloe, but she is staying strong for Lamar."
Lamar was discharged from Sunrise hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, last night (19.10.15) and airlifted via helicopter to a rehab facility in California to continue his treatment.
It's thought he can now move his arms and legs, although he's still unable to stand up, even with assistance.
The results of his CT scan are said to have come back normal but he will reportedly remain on dialysis, a procedure to remove waste products and excess fluid from the blood when the kidneys stop working properly, for a little longer.
Meanwhile, doctors have reportedly told Lamar's friends and family his recovery will be a long and difficult journey as the amount of damage to his body is yet to be determined.
Khloe, 31 - who filed for divorce from her beau last year after four years of marriage - has vowed to support him every step of the way throughout his treatment and recovery.
