Kylie Minogue has thanked her fans for all of their birthday wishes.
The pop superstar turned 56 on Tuesday (28.05.24) and took to social media to share a throwback snap of her much younger self and thank her parents Carol and Ronald, as well as her younger siblings Dannii and Brendan.
She wrote on X: "It’s my birthdaaaaaay!! Thanks Mum and Dad[flower emoji] You’re the best! Thanks brother and sister. Also, the best! Celebrating with you [glittering heart emoji]."
And thanks for all the beautiful messages from around the world. I LOOOOOOVE YOUUUU!!!"
Kylie also posted the snap on Instagram, and several of her fellow celebrities piled in to send their well wishes.
Former 'Neighbours' co-star Jason Donovan - with whom she released the smash hit 'Especially For You' in 1989 - wrote: "Happy birthday @kylieminogue!" and emblazoned his post with a heart-eyes emoji.
Heiress Paris Hilton said: "Happy Birthday Queen!", whilst 'Torn' singer Natalie Imbruglia, radio host Zoe Ball and comedian Lews Denny also wrote sweet messages in the comments section.
The 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' hitmaker started her career as a child when she accompanied Dannii, 52, to an audition for 'The Sullivans' but she actually landed the small part of Dutch girl Carla on the Aussie period drama because her sister was too young.
But her big break came in 1986 when she was cast as Charlene Robinson in 'Neighbours' and famously had a relationship with Jason Donovan, who played her on-screen boyfriend - and then husband - Scott Mitchell.
During her time on the soap opera, Kylie recorded a cover of the Little Eva track 'Loco-Motion' and then left the programme to focus on her burgeoning music career which saw her sign to the industry giants Stock Aitken Waterman and release 'I Should Be So Lucky' in 1987.
Since then, Kylie has released 16 studio albums and is the only female artist to top the album chart in five different decades.
The 'Spinning Around' legend enjoyed another run of success when she released 'Padam Padam' in the summer of 2023 from her album 'Tension' and admitted that it was "interesting" to see she had much younger audience who hadn't noticed her age.
She told Radio Times: "What’s really interesting is that it’s the younger people saying, ‘We love the song.’ The current thinking, which is amazing and a breath of fresh air, is that labels are dropping.
“You can like what you like, be what you want to be. That’s helpful for me right now.
“Another thing is, I’ve had people say to me, throughout the years, ‘You’ll always just be you.’
“They don’t really see my age, which is kind of funny, because I started so young, and if there was any detrimental aspect to that it was, ‘You’re so young, what do you know, how can you be credible?’”
