Kris Jenner suffered a miscarriage before falling pregnant with daughter Kendall.
The 60-year-old matriarch - who has kids Kourtney, 36, Kim, 35, Khloe, 31, and Rob, 28, with late ex-husband Robert Kardashian and Kendall, 20, and Kylie, 18, with former spouse Caitlyn Jenner - credits her late friend Nicole Brown Simpson for helping her through the tragedy by encouraging her to exercise.
She recalled: "Nicole was an amazing friend.
"There were some really great precious moments we shared, [ones] that you have when you spend your life with someone.
"Before I got pregnant with Kendall, I had a miscarriage at three months Nicole really got me through that.
"I had never run before. And Nicole would encourage me. She got me running - and she told, me, 'I promise you'll get pregnant [again].' "
Kris went on to get pregnant with Kendall but sadly, her pal - whose ex-husband O.J. Simpson was acquitted of her murder - wasn't alive to meet the baby but the reality TV star drew "strength" from Nicole's kindness.
The 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' star told People magazine: "In the middle of that, she said, 'I'm going to give you all of my maternity clothes.' Allen Schwartz made Nicole this entire wardrobe of maternity dresses. She had them in every colour. And she gave them all to me.
"I was pregnant with Kendall during the [murder] trial. I actually wore the clothes to trial. That kind of gave me this crazy strength."
To this day, Kris - who gave Kendall the middle name Nicole - still finds "great comfort" in talking to her friend when she prays.
She added: "One day I'll hopefully be able to say to God, 'Why did you take her so young?' But [until then], it gives me great comfort to say my prayers and talk to her. I loved my friend really hard. And [her death] was a loss for so many."
