Kris Boyson found the abuse he was subjected to during his relationship with Katie Price “really stressful”.
The fitness trainer was propelled into the spotlight in 2018 when he started dating the former glamour model and admitted he received a lot of hurtful comments, though he thinks they have made him “stronger”.
Kris – who is now dating Bianca Gascoigne – said: “The worst thing about it was the trolling. I still get it now I’m with Bianca, but when I was with Katie it was really bad.
“It was certainly stressful, but I think I was better equipped than most to deal with it by then – it just makes you stronger.”
Kris praised Bianca for being such a “supportive” partner.
He gushed: “She’s an unbelievably happy, lovely person. It makes a huge difference when you find someone who is right for you. Bianca is really supportive.”
Because of lockdown in the UK, the couple moved in together last March after just one date and Kris admitted it was a big risk.
He said: “It could have been a total disaster, but it worked out! We couldn’t go on dates because of the restrictions, and we can’t have a date night now as she’s flat-out with her make-up course and I’m busy developing my fitness app. It’s hectic, but we’re really happy.”
Kris previously struggled with depression and anxiety and vowed to change his life after taking shocking action to try and combat his problems.
He said: “My anxiety started when I was about 17. I tried to shrug it off, throwing myself into fitness and work. By 21, I had a high paid job in sales, a lovely girlfriend and a car with a personalised number plate – on the surface it looked like I was winning at life.
“But I was depressed and struggled with anxiety and tried to hide it from family and friends. One day I had an out of body experience – I felt like I was in a bad dream and wanted to wake up and, as crazy as it sounds, I decided to run into the middle of the road in front of a car.”
Kris quit his job, sought therapy and took medication, before retraining as a fitness and life coach.
He told Closer magazine: “I’ve always said the best way to deal with mental health is exercise.
“Exercise is what made me happy, so I decided to make that my career and help others use it to transform their lives, too.”
