The 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' star's eldest child Mason turned six on December 14, the same day her youngest, Reign, turned one and they marked the double celebration with an alien-themed bash in the garden of their Californian home.

Kourtney shared on her website: "Since Mason and Reign were born on the same day, I asked Mason if he wanted to have his birthday party with Reign this year and he said yes!

"When it got dark outside, everyone put on their glow-in-the-dark sunglasses and alien beanies.

"We screened the movie 'Home' outside on a big blow-up screen and set up comfy outdoor lounge chairs and lots of blankets for people to watch. It was truly out of this world!"

And Kourtney - who also has three-year-old daughter Penelope with ex-partner Scott Disick - shared some easy decorating tips for fans wanting an alien party of their own.

She explained: "We made black alien eye stickers for the green lanterns that we hung in all of the trees. They lit up so the whole backyard glowed at night."

Guests at the bash - which was organised by Mindy Weiss - tucked into food from restaurant chain Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill, while hot chocolate, coffee and chai lattes kept the revellers warm during the evening.

While the birthday boys shared a party, they each got their own alien-shaped cakes, with Mason's also boasting bright green space creatures on top.
