The 'Game of Thrones' star thinks there is a "double standard" towards men in the movie business and thinks he has been a victim himself.

The Hollywood hunk said: "I don't want to seem ungrateful - I'm lucky. But I can't say that I like a lot of attention a lot of the time.

"I think there is a double standard. If you said to a girl, 'Do you like being called a babe?' and she said, 'No, not really,' she'd be absolutely right."

Kit, 29, cited one particular incident in order to prove his point, when he was asked to strip down for a photoshoot.

He told the Sunday Times newspaper: "I like to think of myself as more than a head of hair or a set of looks. It's demeaning. Yes, in some ways you could argue I've been employed for a look I have. But there's a sexism that happens towards men.

"There's definitely a sexism in our industry that happens towards women, and there is towards men as well. At some points during photoshoots when I'm asked to strip down, I felt that."

Kit has previously spoken of his dislike for the hunk label that has been bestowed upon him over the last few years.

The actor said his acting talents have been obscured by the talk of his good looks.

He said: "It's not just men that can be inappropriate sexually; women can be as well. I'm in a successful TV show in a kind of leading man way and it can sometimes feel like your art is being put to one side for your sex appeal. And I don't like that."
