Kit Harington says the upcoming season of 'Game of Thrones' has "more ambition".
The 30-year-old actor stars as Jon Snow in the hit HBO fantasy drama, and has promised the upcoming seventh season of the programme - which is due to hit screens in July - will be "much grander" than the previous seasons.
Kit said: "Season seven has much more ambition. It's much grander. There are less episodes this year, so they spent more money on those episodes. So, the whole scale of it is up."
The upcoming season will feature seven episodes instead of the regular 10, and will pave the way for the show to come to an end when it reaches season eight.
And Kit believes the programme - which is based on George R. R. Martin's novel series 'A Song of Ice and Fire' - needs to go out "with a bang" when it does close its doors for good.
He added: "That has to happen at the end of Thrones, this season and next season. It has to go into places TV hasn't been."
Despite playing one of the most loved roles in the series, Kit admits he's often a "cynic" when he's filming, and is only happy when he sees audience's reactions.
He told ABC News: "I'm such a big cynic, I film a scene and [think] it's gonna be a terrible scene. Then when everyone loves it, I'm happy."
Meanwhile, Kit's co-star Sophie Turner - who plays Sansa Stark in the television show - is gutted the series will end and is worried about her future career plans when filming ends because it has been her "life" for the past few years.
Speaking previously, she said: "I'm probably sadder than you guys are. It's been my life since I was 13, so I'm pretty sad about it.
"It's crazy when the show finishes I'll pretty much be the same age Kit [Harington] was when he started ... which is crazy. I don't know what I'm going to do with my life."
