Killer Mike has played down his arrest at the Grammy Awards.
The 48-year-old rap star was seen being led away in handcuffs after he won three gongs at the awards show in Los Angeles on Sunday (04.02.24), and Mike has now broken his silence about his arrest.
During an appearance on the 'Big Tigger Morning Talk Show', Mike shared: "Ain't nothing happened. I won them Grammys, we slide, we partied all night."
The rapper was booked on a misdemeanour charge in relation to an altercation inside the Crypto.com Arena.
However, Mike regularly tried to change the subject during the on-air conversation, and he suggested that being arrested wouldn't detract from his success.
He said: "We hit a speed bump and then we head back to the party, man."
Asked if the incident overshadowed his success at the Grammys, Mike replied: "We not even gonna allow you to ask that question. We're gonna get back to the real question - how did he do it?
"Three Grammys, 30 years in game, 48 years old, beat out everyone in the thang, man. He beat the best of the best.
"So all you can say is he one of the best. The best album in the 50th year of hip-hop came from Atlanta, Georgia, from a man who will be 50 years old in two years."
Mike won best rap album for 'Michael', as well as best rap performance and best rap song for his hit 'Scientists and Engineers', which features CeeLo Green, 2 Chainz and Ty Dolla $ign.
During one of his acceptance speeches, Mike reflected on his meteoric rise in the music industry.
The rap star - whose real name is Michael Render - said: "As a kid, I had a dream to become a part of music, and that nine-year-old is excitedly dancing and frightened inside of me right now."
