The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star has defended her decision to call off her divorce with the basketball star following his hospitalisation after a drink and drug binge, insisting he has lost a lot of his close friends and family.

She told PEOPLE magazine: "He's the first one to say that. He doesn't have a support system. He has no siblings and his mother passed away.

"I have basically ten brothers and sisters and strong parents. He has a different lifestyle. He doesn't have a ton of friends because most of them have passed away. It's just him. I want to be his support system."

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old television personality recently took to Twitter to blast her critics for their negative energy.

She wrote: "I want to make this VERY clear.... My people cover, I shot and interviewed for PRIOR to all the events that happened.

"It was contracted press for my book that I wrote months and months ago. Timing is what it is.

"Shame on you all for thinking the worst of me. It's been a tough few weeks. I don't need your f***ed up energy! (sic)"
