The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star split from the basketball player in December 2013 but admitted she deliberately kept their divorce paperwork "dormant" because she still had hope for a reconciliation.

In 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' scenes shot before Lamar's near-fatal overdose at a Nevada brothel in October, she said: "[I] finally decided to move everything forward with the divorce. There's way more underlying issues than if we love each other - that's never been a question. But there's real life that comes in between love sometimes.

"As horrible as that sounds, it's true.

"I've let our divorce be dormant for some time now trying to give Lamar time to make effort - he can't commit to making us better.

"And so I have to now step away and do what's best for me.

'" can still love him - but I have to love and let go."

Khloe - who had begun her relationship with James Harden when she decided to press forward with the divorce - admitted she still wants "the best" for Lamar but felt their relationship had become "toxic".

In the preview clip, she told her sister Kim Kardashian West: "You don't marry someone and then you cut them out of your life that easily.

"I care about Lamar so I want the best for him. I just want the best for his well-being. But when it starts to become toxic on my current life, then that's when I have to remove myself.

"Anyway, you know - it's just done."

Following Lamar's hospitalisation, Khloe - who was placed in charge of his medical decisions because they are still legally married - put their divorce on hold.

Explaining her decision, she previously said: "I pulled back on the divorce because there is no rush for it. For medical decisions and a ton of other things, it's just smarter that it's put on hold. But that doesn't mean I'm back with Lamar. It's not even in our brains to think about us having a relationship."
