Dennis Hof, proprietor of the Love Ranch in Nevada, has given a number of interviews since Khloe's ex was found unconscious after partying with prostitutes for four days and Khloe's publicist has hit out at him for using the tragedy for free publicity.

Khloe's publicist told the New York Daily News: "We reached out to Dennis politely asking him to respect Lamar's (and Khloe's) privacy during this difficult time and refrain from talking to the press.

"This is a very painful situation, as I know you are aware, and the idea that anyone would use it to seek publicity is really sad."

Meanwhile, the father of Lamar's best friend says the former basketball star had a "death wish".

Guillermo Castillo - whose son Jamie Sangouthai died in June as the result of a flesh-eating bacteria he caught through intravenous drug use - said: 'I think Lamar is done. I think most of it is because he missed my son so much.

"I think deep inside they had a death wish, or a wish to die together. It sounds very cold-blooded, but I have a hard time controlling my emotions."

It has been claimed that Lamar had "virtually every drug imaginable" in his body when he was found.

He is reportedly likely to have suffered "brain damage" as a result of a "loss of oxygen but also a possible stroke," and doctors are treating the situation as a non-suicidal "overdose."

A source told E! News: "Drugs were found in his system. [He] had been partying since Friday. He was doing crack cocaine all weekend and he choked on his mucous. They're now having to fix all the damage it has done.

Lamar remains in a critical condition in hospital.
