Kerry Washington is "anxious" about having another child.
The 39-year-old actress is expecting her second child with husband Nnamdi Asomugha and, although she can't wait to meet her little bundle of joy, she has feelings on uneasiness because they already have two-year-old daughter Isabelle.
Speaking to 'Entertainment Tonight', she said: "I'm an only [child] so every time the family grows it brings up a little bit of anxiety. But it's fantastic. I'm really happy."
But the 'Scandal' star has also admitted that her and the former American football cornerback, 35, are keeping details of their baby under wraps and are waiting until the birth to find out the gender of their newest addition.
She said: "We don't know [the gender], yeah. I'm open -- honestly, healthy, happy baby -- that's what we want."
Despite her anxieties about never having lived in a family with more than one child, the 'Django Unchained' actress confessed she is "excited" about the prospect of more children, and she thinks their family is "going to be great".
She said: "We're all really excited. We'll see how it all plays out. I'm an only child, so I'm like, 'What's this going to be like?' But I think it's going to be great."
However, the 'Confirmation' star is bound to be concerned about adding to her broad as she previously admitted that giving birth to her first child Isabelle turned her world "upside down in the most beautiful way."
She said: "You know it [motherhood] just turns your world upside down in the most beautiful way. She [Isabelle] makes me better, I hope, every day. I feel very lucky to be her mum.
"I will say I feel really, really blessed. I just feel really blessed that I'm kind of living extraordinary dreams come true in my work life and in my personal life."
