Kelly Osbourne was moved to tears when her father Ozzy Osbourne was honoured for his work helping recovering addicts during the MusiCares MAP Fund benefit concert earlier this week.
Osbourne struggled to fight back tears when Ozzy Osbourne - who briefly relapsed in 2012 after seven years sober - was presented with the Stevie Ray Vaughan award during the MusiCares MAP Fund benefit concert on Monday night (12.05.14).
The Black Sabbath frontman and reformed drug addict was being honoured for his contribution to the charity and his efforts helping others fight substance abuse, something Kelly has also dealt with in the past.
She wrote in a moving tribute on her website: "Whoever would have guessed that my father would win an award for sobriety? As his daughter who has faced similar struggles, I could not be more proud of the man that my father is today.
"My father was honored with the Stevie Ray Vaughan award (in all honestly I was so proud I had to fight back the tears). I am so grateful to all of my father's friends and colleagues who came to celebrate such an incredible milestone in his life."
The 'Fashion Police' co-host went on to thank heavy metal rockers Metallica for paying tribute to her legendary dad with a rendition of his own track, 'Diary of a Mad Man'.
She enthused: "I want to thank Metallica for not only taking the time out of their ridiculously busy lives to be there to support my father but seeing them play an acoustic set of some of my father's favorite songs including their own rendition of 'Diary of a Mad Man' was one of the most amazing tributes to my father I have ever seen.
"Thank you to all who were involved for such a successful night and great cause."
