Kelly Clarkson's estranged husband denies defrauding her

Kelly Clarkson's estranged husband has denied trying to defraud her.

The 'Because of You' hitmaker filed legal documents with the California Labour Commission in October in which she alleged Brandon Blackstock and his father Narvel's company, Starstruck Management Group, had charged her outlandish fees during her 13 years with the firm and also accused the firm of violating California Labor Code and charging exhorbitant commission fees.

And now Brandon has filed a formal response, in which Startstruck Management have denied all the allegations and purported causes of action.

They insisted that, despite claims in Kelly's filing, they are not subject to regulation under the Talent Agencies Act because they didn't carry out their duties in California and insisted the 'Breakaway' singer isn't entitled to any relief.

In response, Kelly's attorney, Ed McPherson, insisted they were standing by the original filing.

He said in a statement: "We stand by our allegations that Starstruck violated the Talent Agencies Act, despite their boilerplate denials, and we look forward to trying the case before the Labor Commissioner in August."

Kelly previously claimed she was defrauded out of millions of dollars by Brandon and his team.

In her documents, the 38-year-old-star claimed her agreement with the management company was a “fraudulent and subterfuge device” that allowed her managers to perform “illegal services” as agents.

Kelly also alleged both Brandon - who she split from last June - and Narvel were not licensed to be agents in California so she wants to recoup all the money she paid the firm.

It was previously reported that the 'Voice' coach was countersuing the company and had alleged they had violated the California Labour Code because they were not properly licensed when "procuring, offering, promising, or attempting to procure employment or engagements.”

Kelly also claimed the company violated the Talent Agencies Act several times and argued all agreements should be “declared void and unenforceable,” including a verbal agreement that requires 15 percent commission on her gross earnings.

Her countersuit came after Narvel filed a lawsuit against the 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' singer in September, alleging she owed the firm $1.4 million in unpaid commissions from her work on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' and 'The Voice' for 2020.

Kelly was previously awarded primary physical custody of her and Brandon's two children, River, six, and Remington, four, though the former couple will share joint physical and legal custody of both kids.

Brandon also has Savannah, 18, and Seth, 13, from his previous marriage to Melissa Ashworth.
